About Us
Mobile equine & canine chiropractic care focused on mobility, comfort, and performance.
At Horseshoe Animal Chiropractic, we bring gentle, effective chiropractic care for horses and dogs directly to you—at the barn, arena, farm, or home. Our mission is simple: help animals move better, recover faster, and live more comfortably so they can do what they love with ease.
Our approach blends precise chiropractic adjustments, joint mobilizations, and soft-tissue techniques, tailored to each animal’s age, size, activity level, and health history. Care is goal-driven—whether it’s optimizing stride symmetry for a performance horse or easing stiffness for a family dog on the stairs.
We work collaboratively with veterinarians, farriers, trainers, and rehabilitation professionals to keep care safe, coordinated, and effective. Chiropractic complements veterinary medicine; when appropriate, we’ll recommend imaging or medical follow-up to put your animal’s health first.

Symptoms
How to tell if your horse or dog may benefit from chiropractic care
Performance & Gait Issues
When a horse or dog shows reduced willingness to move—hesitating to jump (into the trailer or car), climb stairs, or work under saddle—plus stiffness after rest, uneven gait, or occasional lameness, it may signal joint or spinal restrictions. Addressing these early helps restore comfortable motion and prevent long-term compensations.
Behavioral Resistance
Bucking, head tossing, or refusing jumps in horses—and dogs that avoid play, resist handling of the back/neck, hesitate on stairs, or become irritable during grooming—often reflect discomfort rather than attitude. Chiropractic care can help relieve these issues and improve responsiveness, in coordination with your veterinarian.
Physical Changes
Muscle loss or asymmetry, back soreness, shortened stride, or difficulty bending/collecting (horses) or sitting square/turning to one side (dogs) are visible signs of imbalance or chronic strain. These changes reduce performance and may indicate your animal is carrying tension or compensating for restricted joints.
Faqs
What signs suggest my dog or horse could benefit from chiropractic care?
Watch for changes in movement, posture, or behavior: stiffness after rest, reluctance to jump or use stairs/load the trailer, uneven gait or short-striding, intermittent lameness, sensitivity along the neck/back/hips, trouble rising, muscle tightness, or a drop in performance/attitude. Dog-specific clues include “bunny-hopping” or hesitating to jump into the car; horse-specific clues include resistance under saddle, head tossing, refusing jumps, difficulty bending/collecting, or lead-change problems. Seek your veterinarian first for sudden severe pain, fever, acute lameness, wounds, or neurologic signs.
Is animal chiropractic safe, and who should perform it?
Yes—when provided by a trained animal chiropractor who collaborates with your veterinarian. Techniques are gentle and non-invasive, aiming to restore joint function and neuromuscular balance. Chiropractic care complements (but does not replace) veterinary medicine; conditions such as fractures, infections, or acute neurologic issues require veterinary clearance before care.
What happens during the first visit, and how many sessions are typical?
Your first appointment includes a history review, movement assessment, palpation, and functional testing. If appropriate, adjustments are performed and a home plan is provided (warm-ups, stretching, exercise progressions). Many animals improve within 1–3 sessions; chronic cases or sport animals may benefit from periodic maintenance timed to workload and goals. Visits generally last 30–60 minutes, depending on species and case.
Which problems can chiropractic help with in dogs and horses?
Chiropractic can assist with mild to moderate back/neck stiffness, restricted range of motion, performance slumps, difficulty bending/collecting or changing leads (horses), reluctance to jump or use stairs (dogs), and mobility support for seniors. It’s also a useful adjunct during post-injury recovery once your veterinarian has cleared your animal, helping improve comfort, symmetry, and overall mobility.
